May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, raising awareness of coercive control and family and domestic violence.
Recent numbers from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare show 3.8 million Australians have experienced domestic violence, with some not being able to access support for safe accommodation.
A not-for-profit organisation is supporting victims by providing repurposed phones to be used to contact support services, and DV Safe Phone has launched a campaign called Pass the Phone challenge to give phones to survivors.
